Hi! I’m Ryan.
For the last 9+ years, I led the Creative Services group for Maximum Entertainment / Modus, a video game publisher based in the Bay Area. Our team handled everything creative, from the corporate branding (identity, brand guides, logo design, internal and external reports) and internal creative needs (HR, company social creative, swag designs), to all of the marketing assets (online and print ads, in-store retail displays, physical print packaging, video trailers, digital retail assets, and websites). I’ve managed internal teams of designers, video editors, and web producers along with external agencies, contractors, illustrators, writers and artists.
I’m used to serving as the go-to contact for the Creative team, fielding briefs, working with Brand leads as well as other cross-functional groups like PR, Social, Production, Release Management, Operations, and Sales. I have a lot of experience divvying up work amongst team members and tracking projects and workload using a variety of project management solutions (Trello, Asana, Basecamp, Jira, Notion, Favro).
Except for sketching out compositions and ideas myself occasionally, my team does all the heavy lifting - I spend my time giving feedback on designs and providing inspiration or alternate ideas when they get stuck, managing their workloads so they are kept busy but don’t burnout, and mentoring/guiding them to become independent art producers who can work with clients and manage communication and timelines well.
