"Reverend Lightning"
The comic that never was. My partner on this project was the incomparable James Kei.
It probably won't see the light of day as a comic, but I'll release it in another form, hopefully, in the next couple of years.
The story revolves around the titular Reverend Lightning, whose Ford Torino is struck/blessed by lightning during a race with the devil.
The Rev, forever-despondent over the loss of a woman, drives his Holy Torino around the mean streets of town, looking for his collection of Motown, R&B, Soul vinyl.
Between run-ins with skinheads, drug dealers, and an evil Jazz quartet, he cries in his Torino and obsesses about the woman who left him.
